The authors apply Mikusinski's operational calculus in order to derive transparent boundary conditions for the wide-angle approximation \[ v'= {i\sqrt\mu\over 2} \Biggl[\Biggl({P-\mu\over \mu}\Biggr)- {1\over 4} \Biggl({P-\mu\over \mu}\Biggr)^2\Biggr] v,\quad v(0)= v_0 \] of the one-way Helmholtz equation.
