The authors investigate the structure of pseudoradial spaces starting from \textit{B. Shapirovskij's} result that under CH sequential compactness and pseudoradialness of compact Hausdorff spaces are equivalent [Ann. N. Y. Acad. Sci. 704, 322-327 (1993; Zbl 0855.54032)]. They found more conditions under which compact sequentially compact spaces are pseudoradial. The structure of the space \(2^{\omega_2}\) (as well as of the space \(I^{\omega_2}\)) is crucial for this investigation. Some of the results are: (1) If a compact space \(X\) does not admit a mapping onto \(I^{\omega _2}\) and all closed separable subspaces of \(X\) are pseudoradial, then \(X\) is also pseudoradial; (2) Assuming \(\mathfrak p^+ \geq \mathfrak c\), a compact sequentially compact space that is not pseudoradial can be mapped onto \(I^{\omega_2}\); (3) If \(\mathfrak p^+ \geq \mathfrak c=\omega_3\), then the product of countably many compact pseudoradial spaces is pseudoradial.
