The authors address the question of uniqueness of a Gibbs measure for a quantum system on the lattice \({\mathbf Z}^d\) whose ``spins'' are continuous loops on \({\mathbf R}\) indexed by \([0,\beta]\) (i.e., real-valued \(\beta\)-periodic continuous functions). The single spin distribution has a density w.r.t. the Brownian bridge measure and the nearest neighbour spins are subject to an attractive interaction. Physically this corresponds to a system of interacting identical quantum particles of mass \(m\) performing one-dimensional anharmonic oscillations around their unstable equilibrium positions, which form the \(d\)-dimensional lattice \({\mathbf Z}^d\). It is shown that for every fixed value of the temperature \(\beta^{-1}\) there is a unique tempered Gibbs measure describing such a system, provided only the mass \(m\) is small enough, \(0<m<m_*(\beta)\). This corresponds to large diffusion intensity regime. In contrast to earlier works of some of the authors [\textit{S. Albeverio, Yu. G. Kondratiev, M. Röckner} and \textit{T. V. Tsikalenko}, Probab. Theory Relat. Fields 108, No. 2, 193-218 (1997; Zbl 0883.60094); C. R. Acad. Sci., Paris, Sér. I 324, No. 12, 1401-1406 (1997; Zbl 0883.60093) and Commun. Math. Phys. 189, No. 2, 621-630 (1997; Zbl 0888.60094)] where similar questions were studied by means of the logarithmic Sobolev inequalities, this paper is an application of \textit{R. L. Dobrushin}'s uniqueness criterion [Theory Probab. Appl. 15, 458-486 (1970); translation from Teor. Veroyatn. Primen. 15, 469-497 (1970; Zbl 0264.60037)].
