The paper studies bijections \(h\) of \([0,1)\) such that the graph of \(h\) consists of a finite number of line segments, the slope of each being a power of 2, and the endpoints of each are rational. The main result is that such an \(h\) has a wandering set that is a finite union of (possibly degenerate) intervals. Here a wandering set is a set that meets every orbit of \(h\) in exactly one point. In the special case that the number of segments making up the graph of \(h\) is at most 2 a special argument is made. In this case \(h\) can be viewed as a homeomorphism of the circle. It is shown that the rotation number of this homeomorphism is rational, and Denjoy theory is used to conclude that \(h\) has a Borel wandering set.
