Nonsmooth mapping of linear control systems (Q5929421)

The aim of the paper is to propose an approach for solving the time-optimal control problem for an arbitrary linear control system (with constant coefficients) using the explicit analytic solution of the same problem for the canonical system. A linear control system of second order is studied in detail. By means of this system, the basic features of the proposed approach are outlined. There are also shown the difficulties connected with obtaining an explicit expression for the diffeomorphism between the 0-controllability sets of the original system and the canonical system, respectively.
