The authors present a conjectural evaluation formula for an elliptic Selberg-type beta integral whose integrand is built of products of Ruijsenaars elliptic gamma-functions. The integral in question may be seen as an elliptic version of a Macdonald-Morris constant term identity connected with the classical root systems. At one-variable level the integral may be seen as an elliptic extension of a generalized Askey-Wilson integral. By multivariate residue calculus, a summation formula recently conjectured by \textit{S. O. Warnaar} [Constructive Approximation 18, No. 4, 479--502 (2002; Zbl 1040.33013)] for a multiple modular (or elliptic) hypergeometric series is recovered. When the imaginary part of the modular parameter tends to \(+\infty\), then the elliptic Macdonald-Morris conjecture follows from a Selberg-type multivariate Nassrallah-Rahman integral. As a consequence, the authors obtain a proof for the basic hypergeometric degeneration of Warnaar's sum, which amounts a multidimensional generalization of Jackson's very-well-poised balanced terminating \({}_8 \Phi _7\) summation formula.
