Let \(M\) be a smooth Riemannian manifold with curvature bounded from above by a constant \(\kappa\), \(D\) a conformal minimal surface of \(M\) with conformal factor \(\lambda\). It is well known that by the Gaussian equation, \(\Delta \log\lambda\geq -2\kappa\lambda\). When replacing the target space \(M\) by a complete metric space, the author shows that the same type inequality holds in a weak sense. The main theorem is: Let \(\lambda\) be a conformal factor of the pull back metric under a minimal immersion \(u:D\to X\) where \((X,d)\) is a complete metric space of curvature bounded from above by \(\kappa\). Then for all non-negative \(\varphi\in C_c^{\infty}(D)\), \(\int_D \log \lambda \Delta \varphi \geq -2\kappa \int_D \varphi \lambda\).
