Let \(M\) be a right \(R\)-module. A right module \(N\) is said to be finitely \(M\)-generated if it is the homomorphic image of a finite direct sum of copies of \(M\). A right \(R\)-module \(Q\) is called \(M\)-f-injective if every homomorphism from a finitely \(M\)-generated submodule of \(M\) to \(Q\) can be extended to a homomorphism from \(M\) to \(Q\). If \(Q\) is \(R\)-finitely injective, then it is f-injective. Several properties regarding \(M\)-f-injectivity are proved, for example, it is shown that direct products of \(M\)-f-injectives are \(M\)-f-injective and that direct sums of f-injectives are f-injective. For \(M\) a direct-projective module (i.e. for any direct summand \(X\) of \(M\), every epimorphism \(g\colon M\to X\) splits), several equivalences are found for every right \(R\)-module being \(M\)-f-injective. A module \(M\) is called quasi-f-injective if it is \(M\)-f-injective. Characterizations are found for a module \(M\) to be quasi-f-injective. For \(M\) a Noetherian right \(R\)-module which is a self-generator, \(M\) is shown to be quasi-injective if and only if it is quasi-f-injective.
