The authors study the stationary Navier-Stokes equations \[ \begin{aligned} -\nu\Delta u+(u\cdot \nabla)u+\nabla p & = f\text{ in }\Omega\\ \text{div }u & = 0\text{ in }\Omega\end{aligned} \] in a bounded domain \(\Omega\subset\mathbb{R}^3\). On \(\partial\Omega=\Gamma_1\cup \Gamma_2\), one of the following two mixed boundary conditions is prescribed: \[ \begin{aligned} u & = 0\text{ on }\Gamma_1\\ u\cdot n & = 0\text{ on }\Gamma_2\\ n\cdot T(u,p)\cdot t & = 0\text{ on }\Gamma_2\text{ for all }t\text{ with }t\cdot n=0,\end{aligned} \] or \[ \begin{aligned} u & = 0\text{ on }\Gamma_1\\ u\cdot n & = 0\text{ on }\Gamma_2\\ (\nabla\times u)\times n & = 0 \text{ on }\Gamma_2.\end{aligned} \] Here, \(n\) denotes the outward normal to \(\partial\Omega\) and \(T(u,p)\) is the stress tensor. The authors study the regularity of weak solutions on polyhedral domains and for a class of Lipschitzian domains. For polyhedral domains their main result reads as follows: If \(f\in L^2(\Omega;\mathbb{R}^3)\) and \(u\in W^{1,2}(\Omega;\mathbb{R}^3)\) is a weak solution of one of the above mixed boundary value problems, then \[ u\in W^{s,2}(\Omega;\mathbb{R}^3)\text{ for all }s < \tfrac 32,\quad p\in W^{s,2}(\Omega;\mathbb{R}^3)\text{ for all }s <\tfrac 12 . \] A similar result is proved for a class of Lipschitzian domains.
