Explicit symplectic integrator for rotating satellites (Q5929788)

The authors present two approaches to the construction of an explicit symplectic integrator for the problem of satellite's planar rotation, based on a parameter of the satellite's figure and assuming small eccentricity of the orbit. The integrator, based on the WH approach, involves the evaluation of elliptic functions, thus increasing the computational expense. But the gain in accuracy is proved to be considerable.
