The author introduces a notion called the pseudoleaf tracing property for foliations which is an analogue of the pseudo-orbit tracing property for dynamical systems. He generalizes a fundamental stability theorem for dynamical systems to foliations: Let \(M\) be a closed Riemannian manifold and \(\mathcal F\) a smooth foliation on \(M\). If \(\mathcal F\) is expansive and has the pseudoleaf tracing property, then \(\mathcal F\) is semistable. The author also proves that the pseudoleaf tracing property, the expansivity and the semistability are preserved under the suspension procedure.
