The paper deals with two-point boundary value problems (BVP) for abstract elliptic differential equations \( d^2w(x)/dx^2 = Aw(x)\), \( x \in (0,b)\), where \(w\) is a function from the interval \([0,b]\) into a complex Banach space \(E\) and \(A\) is an elliptic operator densely defined on \(E\). The inverse BVP, consisting in finding the boundary condition of the BVP under considersation at point \(x=0\), provided that there is known the boundary condition at \(x=b\) and some additional information of the solution at the point \(x_0 \in [0,b]\), is studied. The author proves that the solutions of inverse BVP (if any) are unique, moreover, if \(E\) is a reflexive Banach space, \(A\) is an unbounded operator and \(x_0 >0\), then \(w(0)\) (resp. \(w'(0)\)) does not depend continuously on initial data. In addition, under the assumption that the operator \(-A\) generates an exponentially decaying \(C_0\)-semigroup, a representation of an inverse BVP in the form of the integral equation with operator kernels expressed via \(C_0\)-semigroups is given.
