The article deals with the asymptotic behaviour as \(t \to \infty\) of solutions to the non-autonomous Cauchy problem \[ u'(t) = A(t)u(t) + f(t), \quad t>s\geq 0, \quad u(s) =x, \tag{1} \] on a Banach space \(X\). To ensure solvability of (1) it is assumed that the family \(\{A(t)\}\) satisfies the Acquistapace--Terreni conditions. To obtain the asymptotic result it is assumed that for some sectorial operator \(A\) and number \(w \geq 0\) the resolvents \(R(w, A(t))\) converge to \(R(w,A)\) as \(t \to \infty\) in the uniform operator topology in the space of operators between \(X\) and some real interpolation space constructed for \(A\). If this condition holds and the spectrum of \(A\) contains no purely imaginary points, it is proved that the evolution family generated by \(\{A(t)\}\) has exponential dichotomy on some interval \([a,\infty[\subset \mathbb{R}_+\). From this result it follows that if \(f\) in (1) is continuous and satisfies \(f(t) \to f_{\infty}\) as \(t \to \infty\), then the mild solution to (1) converges to \(-A^{-1}f_{\infty}\) as \(t \to \infty\). The above results generalize the theorem of exponential stability of evolution families in Pazy's monograph and the asymptotic result of Tanabe. The paper concludes with an application of the abstract result to a non-autonomous parabolic equation.
