This paper is devoted to the justification of gasdynamic equations in space physics. Several examples are presented to show an important role of gas dynamics in solving space physics problems. The authors discusses the kinetic foundation of fluid dynamics equations, and then establishes basic criteria for deriving the hydrodynamic equations of a fully ionized plasma by using Boltzmann equation with collision integral in Landau form. Hydrodynamic equations for a collisionless plasma are discussed. Finally, the author proposes a model description of two-component flows in which one of the components cannot be described by the hydrodynamic approximation.
