Let \(\Omega\) be a domain in \(\mathbb{R}^N\). In a recent paper [J. Math. Soc. Japan 52, 561-581 (2000; Zbl 0958.31007)] the authors studied solutions of a quasi-linear elliptic differential equation \[ -\text{div} {\mathcal A}\bigl(x, \nabla u(x)\bigr) +{\mathcal B}\bigl(x,u(x) \bigr)=0\text{ on } \Omega. \] where \({\mathcal A}:\Omega \times\mathbb{R}^N \to\mathbb{R}^N\) and \({\mathcal B}:\Omega \times\mathbb{R} \to\mathbb{R}\) satisfy several conditions involving measurability, continuity and growth. In the paper under review they define the harmonic boundary of \(\Omega\) relative to the so-called structure condition of the equation and show that it has properties analogous to those of the harmonic bonndary of classical potential theory. In particular, a comparison principle (or minimum principle) with respect to the harmonic boundary is shown to hold, and relations between Dirichlet regular points and the harmonic boundary are given.
