On the existence of smooth solutions of linear functional equations (Q5931979)

From the authors introduction: We consider smooth solutions \(\varphi\) of the functional equation \[ \sum^N_{n=1} T_n(x)\varphi \bigl[g_n (x)\bigr]=f(x). \] Formerly, the existence of a smooth solution \(\varphi \in C^k (\mathbb{R}^\ell, \mathbb{R}^m)\) of the equation in the case where \(g_n(x)= x+x_n\) was studied. We generalize this result both by considering general normed spaces and a more general class of given functions.
