The authors study the following system of linear difference equations with periodic coefficients: \[ x(n + 1) = A(n)x(n),\quad n\geq 0, \] where \(A(n)\) is a periodic \((N\times N)\)-matrix with period \(T\). The zero solution is supposed to be asymptotically stable. According to the spectral criterion, this means that all eigenvalues of the monodromy matrix \[ X(T) = A(T - 1)\dots A(1)A(0) \] of the system belong to the unit disk. The aim of the article is to indicate some numerical characteristics for the asymptotic stability of solutions to the above-mentioned system without appealing to the spectrum of the monodromy matrix. The authors propose some numerical characteristics for asymptotic stability of the zero solution to the periodic system and, using them, obtain various estimates for solutions.
