The author provides conditions under which the dumped mathematical pendulum equation \(l(t) \ddot {\phi} +c\dot {\phi} +\sin \phi =e(t)\) admits an almost-periodic solution. Here, the functions \(l, e\) are step functions and at their jumping points depend on the index \(n\) in an almost-periodic way. The method used consists of the study of an infinite system of ordinary differential equations whose solutions satisfy the chain-like initial condition: \(x_{n+1}(0)=E(n)x_{n}(1),\) for all integers \(n\). Such a system is rewritten in the form of a nonlinear boundary value problem in the space \(l_{1}\) and then the Banach contraction theorem is applied. The results obtained include also growth information for the solutions.
