The authors consider continuous self-maps of the unit interval and for such \(f\) give a characterization of the \(\omega\)-limit sets of~\(f\) among the non-minimal closed and nowhere dense \(f\)-invariant sets. A key role seems to be played by a property called P1: one can decompose a given set~\(A\) into two closed sets \(M_1\) and \(M_2\) such that \(f[M_1]\) meets~\(M_2\). Unfortunately it looks like the authors apply this to every decomposition of the set~\(A\); this makes the validity of the characterizations, for this reviewer, rather uncertain.
