All varieties of normal bands with involution (Q5933689)

Let \(NB^*\) be the variety of all normal involution bands, i.e., of semigroups with a unary operation \(*\) such that the following identities hold: (1) \((xy)^*=y^*x^*\); (2) \((x^*)^*=x\); (3) \(x^2=x\); (4) \(xyzt=xzyt\). The lattice \(L(NB^*)\) of all subvarieties of \(NB^*\) is completely determined. It has precisely fourteen members. Recall, for comparision, that the lattice of all varieties of normal bands has only eight members.
