PYTHIA version 7-0. 0 -- a proof-of-concept version (Q5934121)

The main aim of the present article is to present the program package Pythia 7 in C ++ which is mainly intended to be a replacement for the ''Lund'' family of event generators. The generator is based on the existing Lund program family, but rewritten from scratch in a modern, object-oriented style, using C ++. The authors describe how to obtain, install, run a sample Pythia7 program and to use the program in details. Then, they present how to implement models in the Pythia7 framework and moreover, the implementation of Lund string fragmentation is given as a case study.
