This paper deals with the existence of unbounded nonnegative solutions of \[ \begin{cases} g(x,u,\nabla u)+Au=f \quad &\text{ in }\Omega\\ u=0\quad & \text{ on } \partial\Omega \text{ (boundary of }\Omega) \end{cases} \] where \(g(x,u,\nabla u)= |u|^q |\nabla u|^r\), \(q>0\), \(0\leq r<2\). The existence of solutions is proved via a sequence of approximated and penalized problems, with solutions \(u^\varepsilon\). To obtain a priori estimates a second approximation is used, with solution \(u^\varepsilon_\delta\). The author uses suitable compactness properties of the sequence \(u^\varepsilon_\delta\) in some Sobolev space and Fatou's lemma.
