In this correspondence, by a simple counterexample, it is pointed out that the main result of the paper [\textit{W.-H. Wang, C.-B. Soh, T.-Y. Chai}, Automatica 33, No. 12, 2197--2202 (1997; Zbl 0906.93051)] is not correct.
