The author studies the problem \(A^{-1}(Au')'-qu=-f(\cdot ,u)\) a.e. on \((0,1)\), \(u(0)=u(1)\), \(Au'(0)=Au'(1)\). Here, \(A\) is a positive continuous function in \((0,1)\), \(q\) is a nonnegative measurable function on \((0,1)\) and \(f\) is a nonnegative regular function on \((0,1)\times (0,\infty)\) such that \(\int A^{-1}<\infty \), \(0<\int Aq <\infty \). Existence and uniqueness of a positive solution are proved. The proof is based on the use of Green's function and Schauder's fixed-point theorem.
