The author carries out a geometric analysis of the mechanical system with Lagrange function \[ L=\frac12\,\big(\dot x^2 + \dot y^2\big) + \omega(x\dot y - y\dot x) + \frac12\,\big(ax^2 + by^2\big), \] where \(\omega\), \(a\) and \(b\) are positive constants subjected to the condition \[ 2\omega>\sqrt{a} + \sqrt{b}. \]
