Minimal function spaces for spline interpolation (Q5937035)

This paper is organized into four sections. The first section provides some examples which motivate the discussion. The second section provides a lemma and a proof which are needed to establish the main result. The third section contains a theorem which characterizes precisely when interpolation of \(2n+k\) data points is possible from a spline space of order \(k\) with \(n\) interior knots. The numerical results are given in the last section.
