Let \((M,\omega)\) be a \(2n\)-dimensional symplectic manifold and \(\nabla \) be a symplectic connection \((\nabla\omega =0).\) We say that the curvature \(R\) is of Ricci-type if \[ \begin{multlined} R(X, Y; Z, T)={{-1}\over {2(n+1)}}[2\omega (X, Y)r(Z, T)+\omega (X, Z)r(Y, T)\\+ \omega (X, T)r(Y, Z)-\omega (Y, Z)r(X, T)-\omega (Y, T)r(X, Z)],\end{multlined} \] where \(r\) is the Ricci tensor. The motivation for looking at symplectic connections with curvature of Ricci-type is twofold. The symplectic connections provide critical points of a functional which has been introduced by \textit{F. Bourgeois} and \textit{M. Cahen} [J. Geom. Phys. 30, No. 3, 233-265 (1999; Zbl 0963.53050)] in order to select preferred symplectic connections and they also provide integrable almost complex structures on the bundle of almost complex structures compatible with the symplectic structure [\textit{I. Vaisman}, J. Geom. Phys. 3, 507-524 (1986; Zbl 0629.53032)]. In this paper the authors study symplectic connections on compact homogeneous symplectic manifolds with curvature tensor of Ricci-type. The main results are the following. Theorem 1: Let \((M,\omega)\) be a compact homogeneous symplectic manifold with finite fundamental group. If \((M, \omega)\) admits a homogeneous symplectic connection \(\nabla\) with Ricci-type curvature then \((M, \omega)\) is symplectomorphic to \((P^n(C), \omega _0),\) where \(\omega _0\) is a multiple of the Kähler form of the Fubini-Study metric, and \(\nabla \) is affinely equivalent to the Levi-Civita connection. Theorem 2: Let \((M, \omega)\) be a compact homogeneous symplectic manifold of dimension \(4\). If \((M, \omega)\) admits a homogeneous symplectic connection \(\nabla \) with Ricci-type curvature, then \(\nabla \) is locally symmetric.
