    This article deals with modified Ishikawa approximations \[ x_{n+1}= Qp_n,\quad p_n= (1- a_n)x_n+ a_n T^ny_n+ u_n,\quad y_n= (1- b_n) x_n+ b_n T^n x_n+ u_n \] and modified Mann approximations \[ x_{n+1}= Qp_n,\quad p_n=(1- a_n) x_n+ a_n T^n x_n+ u_n, \] where \(T: D\to D\) is a mapping of a nonempty closed convex subset of a real uniformly convex Banach space \(E\), \(a_n,b_n\in [0,1]\), \(\sum^\infty_{n=0}\|u_n\|< \infty\), \(\sum^\infty_{n=0}\|v_n\|< \infty\), \(Q\) is a nonexpansive retraction of \(E\) onto \(D\). The main result is the strong convergence of modified Ishikawa or Mann iterates provided that \(T\) is a semi-compact uniformly \(L\)-Lipschitzian asymptotically nonexpansive type mapping with \(\text{Fix }T\neq\emptyset\) and \(0< \varepsilon\leq a_n\), \(b_n\leq 1-\varepsilon\) and, at last, if for any subsequence \(\{x_{n_i}\}\subseteq \{x_n\}\) the relation \(\|T^{n_i} x_{n_i}- x_{n_i}\|\to 0\) implies \(\|Tx_{n_i}- x_{n_i}\|\to 0\).
