The paper deals with apodectic syllogistic. Supported by a close analysis of Aristotle's text, the author shows the right semantic restrictions on the principles of modal conversion as powerful enough to do all the work. The final conclusion is that any modal rules should be only modal versions (substitution instances) of ordinary nonmodal rules and consequently there is no separate logic of modality for Aristotle.
