On the first Hochschild cohomology group of an algebra (Q5937995)

Let \(A=K\Delta/I\) be a quotient algebra of a path algebra \(K\Delta\). The authors use combinatorial data from \((\Delta,I)\) to compute the dimension \(\dim H^1(A)\) of the first Hochschild cohomology \(H^1(A)\) of the algebra \(A\). For the fundamental group \(\pi_1(\Delta,I)\) of \(A\) [\textit{E. L. Green}, Lect. Notes Math. 903, 106-115 (1981; Zbl 0507.16001)] an embedding \(\Hom(\pi_1(\Delta,I),K^+)\to H^1(A)\) is studied to relate \(\dim H^1(A)\) with the rank of the Abelianization of \(\pi_1(\Delta,I)\).
