The associated primes of local cohomology modules over rings of small dimension (Q5938002)

The subject of the paper is to prove some special cases of the following conjecture of \textit{C. Huneke} [in: Free resolutions in commutative algebra and algebraic geometry, Proc. Conf., Sundance 1990, Res. Notes Math. 2, 93-108 (1992; Zbl 0782.13015)] Let \(R\) be a noetherian local ring, \(I\) an \(I\) an ideal of \(R\), \(M\) a finitely generated \(R\)-module. Then \(\text{Ass} (H^i_I(M))\) is a finite set. The author shows that the conjecture is true in the following three cases: (1) for \(\dim M\leq 3\); (2) if \(R\) is a local ring satisfying \((R_2)\), whose regular locus is open and \(\dim R=4\); (3) If \(\dim R=5\) and \(M\) is torsion-free.
