The author proves the following theorems for metric foliations, which extend a result by \textit{H. Takagi} on nonexistence of some Killing fields on Riemannian manifolds [see Math. Rep., Toyama Univ. 5, 137-139 (1982; Zbl 0508.53050)], and ``Compact Leaf Theorems'' for Riemannian foliations on simply connected closed manifolds under topological assumptions by \textit{E. Ghys} [see Ann. Inst. Fourier 34, No. 4, 203-223 (1984; Zbl 0525.57024)]: Theorem 1. Let \((M,F,g)\) be a transversely positive metric foliation of a closed Riemannian manifold \((M,g)\). Two mutually commuting transverse Killing fields \(X\) and \(Y\) are linearly dependent somewhere on \(M\). Theorem 2. Let \((M,F,g)\) be a codimension \(-q\) metric foliation of a closed Riemannian manifold \((M,g)\) with positive sectional curvature. (1) If \(\text{codim} (F)\) is even, then \(f\) has a compact leaf. (2) If \(\text{codim} (F)\) is odd, then there is a leaf \(L\in F\) such that \(Cl(L)\) is a \((q-1)\)-codimensional closed submanifold of \(M\), where \(Cl(L)\) means the closure of \(L\subset M\) in \(M\).
