Semilinear geometric optics for generalized solutions (Q5938137)

The present paper is concerned with the study of nonlinear geometrical optics for Cauchy problems for semilinear hyperbolic systems in one space variable within the framework provided by the algebras of generalized functions developed by J. F. Colombeau. The results are used to obtain a nonlinear superposition principal when the distributional data are perturbed by rapid oscillations; the estimates in the representing sequences for derivatives are presented in the Appendix. The paper may be of some interest to some one working in this area.
