In this interesting paper, the author constructs a topological fixed-point theory for a class of set-valued maps, which appears in a natural way in boundary value problems for differential inclusions. The construction is based upon the notion of \((U,V)\)-approximation in the sense of \textit{H. Ben-El-Mechaiekh} and \textit{P. Deguire} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 170, No. 2, 477-500 (1992; Zbl 0762.54033)]. As an application, the author considers initial value problems for nonlinear evolution inclusions of the type \[ \dot x(t)\in -A(t,x(t))+F(t,x(t)), \quad t\in T=[0,b], \quad x(0)=x_{0}, \] where the operator \(A\) satisfies various monotonicity assumptions and \(F\) is an upper semi-continuous set-valued perturbation. Examples illustrating his results are presented.
