In the characteristic triangle which is bounded by the curves \( x-2\sqrt{-y}=0\), \(x+2\sqrt{-y}=1\) \((y<0)\), \(y=0\) the author considers the modified Cauchy problem for the equation \[ yu_{yy}+u_{xx}+\alpha u_y=0. \] The author constructs some integral representation of solutions to this problem in the case of \(\alpha<0\), \(-\alpha\notin\mathbb N\) that is new in lacking the derivatives of the function \(\tau(x)=u(x,0)\). Using this representation of the solution to the Cauchy problem, the author studies several original problems. In particular, he proves existence of solutions to some boundary value problem for the parabolic-hyperbolic equation \[ 0=\begin{cases} u_{xx}-u_y +a(x,y)u_x +b(x,y)u, & y\geq 0,\\ u_{xx} +yu_{yy}+\alpha u_y, & y< 0,\end{cases} \] in the domain bounded by a contour of the rectangle in the half-plane for \(y>0\) and a contour of the characteristic triangle in the half-plane for \(y<0\).
