This paper is devoted to the uniqueness of the multilayered obstacle inverse scattering problem for acoustic waves for a penetrable scatterer with an impenetrable core. In particular, the authors consider the case where the core is rigid, or sound-hard, that is, the Neumann boundary condition holds. To this end, the authors use a generalization of Schiffer's method to nonsmooth domains due to Ramm.
