    Given \(\mathcal Z= (z_1, \ldots, z_N)\in \mathbb C^N\), \(z_i\) not necessarily distinct, the paper considers two types of subalgebras \(\mathfrak{b}\) of \(\mathfrak{sl}_2 \otimes \mathbb C[t]\): \[ \mathfrak{sl}_2(\mathcal Z; \mathbf 0)= \mathfrak{sl}_2 \otimes (t-z_1)\cdots (t-z_N)\mathbb C [t] \] and \[ \mathfrak{sl}_2(\mathcal Z; \mathfrak n)= \mathbb C e \otimes \mathbb C[t] \oplus (\mathbb C h \oplus \mathbb C f)\otimes (t-z_1)\cdots (t-z_N)\mathbb C [t] \] and the corresponding spaces of coinvariants \(L/\mathfrak{b}L\), where \(L\) is an integrable representation of \(\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2\). These spaces of coinvariants are finite-dimensional, and their dimensions are computed via the Verlinde algebra. Also, monomial bases for these spaces are given together with a recursion for the characters.
