Let \(J_n\) be a square matrix of order \(n\) with its all entries equal to \(\frac 1n\) and \(\Omega_n\) the compact monoid of all doubly stochastic matrices of order \(n\). A square matrix \(A\) is referred to as \(J\)-potent with potency \(p\) if \(p\) is the minimum integer \(>1\) such that \(A^p=A^{p+1}\). The authors find a characterization for \(A\) to be \(J\)-potent and determine all \(J\)-potent matrices with a given potency \(p\).
