\(V\) and \(W\) are finite-dimensional real inner product spaces. For a closed subgroup \(G\) of the orthogonal group on \(V\) , group majorization is defined by \(y\leq _Gx\) if \(y\) is in the convex hull of the orbit of \(x\). A linear map \(T\) from \(V\) to \(W\) is said to be isotone with respect a subgroup \(G\) and a corresponding subgroup \(H\) of the orthogonal group on \(W\) if \(T\) preserves group majorization (i.e., \(y\leq_Gx \rightarrow Ty\leq _H Tx\)). Various conditions are provided that characterize isotone maps. Applications to the coordinate sign change group are studied as well as applications to permutation groups. This framework encompasses proofs for a number of known results related to permutation groups.
