Traveling holes make a one-parameter family of solutions to complex Ginzburg-Landau (CGL) equations which asymptotically connect plane waves of different amplitudes and different wave numbers. This paper reviews recent works concerning such solutions. After a short introduction to CGL equations and weak turbulence, the author turns to some properties of traveling holes and their stability. Finally, some open questions are discussed.
