The authors consider the boundary value Signorini problem for a plane bounded domain. The elastic body is in contact with a rigid obstacle, and the contact zone of the boundary is composed of connected arcs with endpoints \(P^{(k)}\). The main goal is to study the singularities of stress field at the points \(P^{(k)}\). The method of asymptotic expansions is used, and an explicit formula is derived for the singularity. First, the authors consider a homogeneous half-plane model problem describing the asymptotic behaviour of mode-I crack near the crack tip. Then, the authors derive formal asymptotics of the solution near the endpoints, and give a method of calculation of stress intensity factors using weight functions. Using the general theory of Fredholm operators in weighted Sobolev spaces, the authors justify in the final sections asymptotic expressions for stress intensity factors.
