Median filter based realizations of the robust time-frequency distributions. (Q5941542)

Recently, some new efficient tools for spectral analysis of signals corrupted by impulse noise have been introduced. They are based on the minimax robust \(M\)-estimation. The proposed robust distributions are calculated through an iterative procedure. Here we propose the robust short-time Fourier transform (STFT) and the robust Wigner distribution (WD), based on the simple median filter. Their efficiency in time-frequency analysis is demonstrated in examples.
