In [\textit{M. Shub} and \textit{A. Wilkinson}, Invent. Math. 139, 495-508 (2002; Zbl 0976.37013)], it is proved that if \(A_{3}\) is the automorphism of the torus \(\mathbb{T}^{3}\), given by \(\left(\begin{smallmatrix} A_{2} &0\\ 0&1 \end{smallmatrix}\right) \), with \(A_{2}= \left(\begin{smallmatrix} 2&1\\ 1&1 \end{smallmatrix}\right)\), and \(g\) a small perturbation of \(A_{3}\) in the set of Lebesgue-Haar measure (\(\mu\)) preserving diffeomorphisms of \(\mathbb{T}^{3}\), then \(g\) is ergodic and there is an equivariant fibration \(\pi:\mathbb{T}^{3}\to\mathbb{T}^{2}\) such that \(\pi g=A_{2}\pi\). The fibers of \(\pi\) are the leaves of a foliation \(W_{g}^{c}\) by \(C^{2}\) circles. Moreover, there is a \(\lambda^{c}>0\) such that, for \(\mu\)-almost every \(p\in\mathbb{T}^{3}\), if \(v\in T_{p}\mathbb{T}^{3}\) is tangent to the leaf of \(W_{g}^{c}\ni p\), then \(\lambda^{c}\) is the central Lyapunov exponent of \((g,\mu)\), i.e. \[ \lambda^{c}=\lim_{n\to\infty}{{1}\over{n}}\log||T_{p}g^{n} v||. \] The paper under review complements this result showing that for an automorphism \(g\) as above there exists a subset \(S\subseteq \mathbb{T}^{3}\) of \(\mu\)-full measure, and a finite number \(k\in\mathbb{N}\) such that \(S\) meets every leaf of \(W_{g}^{c}\) in exactly \(k\) points. The foliation \(W_{g}^{c}\) is absolutely singular.
