This paper is a tutorial paper which focuses mainly and only on some viewpoints of complexity which are used in problems related to systems and automatic control. The article is organized as follows. One briefly summarizes the concept of feedback robustness and its metric representations, and then the essential of some ideas of a complexity modelling which holds in a certain trend of automatic control are borne in mind. Then some recent frameworks to capture the relationships between identification and control are described, together with some examples. It is shown that the problem of dealing jointly with deterministic unmodelled dynamics and stochastic disturbances can be embedded in an identification problem. To conclude, some open problems are outlined.
