Cracked media are subjects of constant research interest due to numerous applications, especially in seismology. Here the authors present a possible model of such media by using alternating fluid-solid layers. It is known that in a layered medium two kinds of waves can occur: a fast wave, and a slow wave. The authors compute the attenuation of slow interference wave and analyse the dispersion relation in the case when the wave velocity is a complex number. This allows to introduce the attenuation in the description of wave propagation in many practical situations.
