On a theorem of Yulmukhametov (Q5942059)

Yulmukhametov's theorem concerning the approximation of subharmonic functions by logarithms of moduli of entire functions [\textit{R. S. Yulmukhametov}, Anal. Math. 11, 257-282 (1985; Zbl 0594.31005)] is an important result with many applications. Yulmukhametov's proof is based on a theorem of the decomposition of measures. In the present paper the authors give a simplified version of this proof and, at the same time, they obtain an improvement of one of the conditions. But we remark that Yulmukhametov's proof extends to higher dimensions, while their proof is essentially two-dimensional.
