The authors consider two spectral problems generated by the differential equation \[ u''(x)+\lambda u(x)=0 \] on a finite interval and two variants of boundary conditions containing the spectral parameter \(\lambda\). They prove the uniform convergence of the generalized Fourier series (as well as the differentiated series) in systems of the eigenfunctions. More precisely, it is proven that these series converge simultaneously with the Fourier expansions in the related systems of trigonometric functions. The latter are determined by the asymptotics of eigenvalues of the problems in question.
