The authors of this very interesting paper study systems described by initial-boundary value conjugation problems for parabolic partial differential equations of second order having the form \( \partial \varphi_1 (x,t)/ \partial t + A_1(t) \varphi_1 (x,t)= f_1 (x,t) \) on \(\Omega _1\times (t_0, T)\), \(\partial \varphi_2(x, t)/ \partial t + A_2(t) \varphi_2(x,t)=f_2(x,t) \) on \(\Omega _2\times (t_0,T)\), where \(\Omega _1\), \(\Omega _2\) are some domains with boundaries \(\Gamma_1\), \(\Gamma_1\), respectively, \(f_1\), \(f_2\) are \(L^2\)-functions, \(A_1(t)\), \(A_2(t)\) are differential operators with \(L^{\infty}\)-coefficients. This equations appear, in particular, in simulating temperature processes in multicomponent media under inhomogeneous conjugation conditions of imperfect contact. The same problems with discontinuous coefficients (there exists model containing only one parabolic equation) being of interest describe nonstationary processes of filtration, heat transfer, diffusion, moisture- and salt-conduction in multicomponent media under inhomogeneous conditions of imperfect and ideal contact. From observations of the system state on a finite time interval, minimax prediction estimates for functionals in solutions to the considered problems are found for an arbitrary time moment in the future. It is assumed that the right-hand sides of the equations, the initial, boundary, conjugation conditions, and the measurement errors are not determined exactly, and only the sets to which they belong are known.
