The author considers the Wilson nonconformal finite element approximation of the eigensolutions corresponding to a Dirichlet linear elliptic boundary value problem defined on the unit square. Using a quasi-uniform rectangular partition, the author reports error estimates and convergence results for the respective 2-D eigenvalue problem utilising Ritz-Galerkin projections for the eigenfunctions.
