The stability of a linear finite-dimensional perturbed system \[ \dot x (t) = (A_0+E(p))x(t) \] is studied. The perturbation \(E(p)\) is a linear combination \( E(p) = \sum p_i A_i \) where \(A_i\) are fixed matrices and \(\{p_i\}\) are the components of arbitrary elements of a given ellipsoid. The dimension of the ellipsoid and the one of the phase space are not necessarily the same. Under the assumption that the unperturbed system is stable, conditions of stability of the perturbed system are obtained using ellipsoidal estimates. Ellipsoidal estimates of attainable sets were studied in control theory for a long time. Unfortunately, the authors do not compare their results with the ones of predecessors. For example, in the monographs by \textit{F. L. Chernousko} [State estimation for dynamic systems. Boca Raton: CRC Press (1994)] and by \textit{A. Kurzhanski} and \textit{I. Vályi} [Ellipsoidal calculus for estimation and control. Basel: Birkhäuser (1997; Zbl 0865.93001)] and references therein, ellipsoidal estimates are obtained in much more general situations.
